ABOUT US

TheMaxwell Underground Mine, owned byMalabar Resources Ltdhas commenced operations at their Hunter Valley site, with production projected of up to 8 million tonnes of coal per annum. With a long life, the underground mine targets high quality coal, with the majority being metallurgical coal.

ABOUT THE ROLE

To support our ongoing growth, we currently have a number of opportunities for Experienced Underground Operators to join our Team. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in underground coal mining, specifically longwall and/or continuous miner experience, a keen attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. You will be responsible for operating various types of underground mining equipment, ensuring efficient and safe production.

Key responsibilities:

  • Operate underground mining equipment including continuous miners, roof bolters, shuttle cars, and load-haul-dump (LHD) machines.
  • Longwall production
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform equipment inspections and maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor and manage the mining process to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of operations and report any incidents or irregularities.

ABOUT YOU

Successful applicants will have:

  • Minimum 2 years\’ experience in Underground Longwall Coal Mining.
  • Current competency in the operation of plant or equipment in underground coal mining.
  • Proven track record of safely working in an underground mining environment.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in coal mining.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and handle heavy equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experienced continuous miner operators will be highly regarded.

Successful applicants will be required to undertake an Order 43 medical, including drug and alcohol.
