Position Overview
As a Innovation On‑Site Specialist, you will be responsible for promoting, presenting and demonstrating the full range of Makita products within your assigned territory. This includes focusing on key product categories such as Industrial Tools, Outdoor Power Equipment, Cordless Tools, Cleaning Equipment, and associated accessories.
What you will be doing:
- Relationship building: Developing and maintaining strong relationships with both end users and distributors, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Product Demonstrations: Conducting product demonstrations and training sessions for distributors, contractors, and end users to increase product awareness and drive sales.
- Reporting: Reporting on end‑user activity, market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to your Regional Sales Manager.
- Equipment Management: Managing and maintaining your own demonstration kit and sales materials.
- Business Development: Identifying end‑user opportunities within your designated area.
- Events and Exhibitions: Representing Makita at trade shows, exhibitions, and product evaluation days within your territory.
- Live call activity and mileage reporting: Ensuring your call activities are planned efficiently, with regular recording on the app‑based system.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven hand‑on experience within the tools, construction, or outdoor power equipment industries.
- Product Knowledge: A passion for tools and technology, with a desire to stay up to date on the latest industry trends and product developments.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of power tools, particularly industrial, cordless, outdoor, and cleaning products (prior experience with Makita products is a plus).
- Customer‑centric mindset: The ability to build strong relationships and identify opportunities and obstacles to serve end‑user and distributor needs.
- Communication skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to deliver impactful product demonstrations and training sessions.
- Organised and Efficient: Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your time and territory effectively. Basic IT skills are essential.
- Full Driving Licence: A full UK driver’s licence and the flexibility to travel within your territory, including some weekend working and overnight stays.
