This Role Is Subject To:
- Qualification – Ilex Professional Diploma in Law (Level 3) or equivalent legal qualification.
We are looking for 2 Legal officers to join the Housing and Neighbourhood Nuisance Team (Legal). One of the important functions of the team is to provide legal support to Manchester and Salford Councils in respect of Housing Condition claims. The legal officers will work in a supportive and friendly environment alongside the wider Housing legal Team. We meet regularly as a Team and one to one with Managers. Training plans are created and reviewed to encourage and support development of staff. You will have access to a case management system with excellent features to support organisation and efficient case progression.
About The Candidate:
The successful candidates will manage a caseload of Housing Condition claims, progressing the claim throughout the pre-action protocol period. An excellent knowledge of the relevant Parts of the Civil Procedure Rules and law relating to repairing obligations is required.
The role involves considering claims, instructing experts, reviewing documents, advising on liability and quantum, and drafting responses. An ability to meet deadlines is essential. This is a great opportunity to use key legal skills, including communication, drafting, research, and negotiation skills.
