Overview

Facilities Assistant Level 1 role is a cleaning role, providing a cleaning service across the city of Manchester. The Housekeeping team is part of Corporate Estates team and is responsible for the building cleaning service across the Estate.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out cleaning tasks as listed by your site, including hoovering, mopping, polishing, cleaning toilets and emptying bins.
  • Follow daily task lists and maintain cleanliness across assigned buildings.
  • Work alone or as part of a team depending on location and shift patterns.
  • Attend to a variety of buildings such as depots, schools, libraries, offices and homelessness accommodations as applicable to the role.

Hours, Locations and Structure

  • First vacancy: Town Hall Extension, Lloyd Street M2 5DB — Monday to Friday, 5pm to 7pm (10 hours per week).
  • Second vacancy: Hammerstone Road — Monday to Friday, 6am to 9am (15 hours per week).
  • Working hours: 1 x 10 hours per week and 1 x 15 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
  • Interview method: Face to face.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Proof of Manchester Residency is required for certain roles and candidates must reside within Manchester City Council boundaries.
  • 2 References (3 years’ history where possible).
  • No prior experience required; full training is provided to perform tasks safely with equipment and chemicals provided.
  • Uniform provided; suitable footwear to be supplied by you.
