About Making AI Work
Making AI Work is an AI Systems Integrator. We help B2B organisations improve measurable business performance by selecting, implementing, and operating AI-powered sales infrastructure, using the best AI, automation, and sales technologies available today. We are starting with sales because it offers one of the fastest routes to measurable commercial outcomes. Over time, we expect to expand into other business functions as organisations mature their AI adoption.
Most organisations are overwhelmed by AI. They have access to Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, and hundreds of specialist tools, but struggle to understand what to use, what to ignore, where to start, how to implement it properly, and how to measure success.
You will be the first senior hire in the business and will work directly with the Founder. You will take ownership of client delivery, implementation standards, AI solution design and the future delivery organisation. This is a role for someone who wants to build something meaningful from the ground up. Initially, you will be hands-on. Over time, you will build the delivery capability, delivery standards and delivery team that supports the growth of the business.
The business is being founded by a technology entrepreneur with a track record of building, scaling and exiting multiple successful technology businesses over the last 25 years.
What You'll Do
- Lead client delivery from discovery through implementation and optimisation
- Design practical AI-powered solutions that improve measurable commercial performance
- Stay current on the rapidly evolving AI landscape, including LLMs, AI agents, automation platforms and specialist AI tools
- Advise clients when capabilities such as Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot or existing CRM functionality are sufficient, and when additional tooling is justified
- Build automation workflows and integrated business systems
- Build the delivery function, including standards, playbooks, processes and future team members
- Support pre-sales activity, workshops and solution design
- Work alongside the Founder to help build the UK's leading AI Systems Integrator
What Success Looks Like
- Multiple successful client implementations delivering measurable outcomes
- A repeatable delivery methodology established
- Strong client retention and satisfaction
- Delivery capability operating independently of the Founder
- Foundations in place for future team growth
Who This Role Is For
- Thinks in systems, not tools
- Strong operator and leader
- Commercially minded and focused on outcomes
- Deeply interested in AI and its practical application
- Strong understanding of modern AI tools, LLMs and automation platforms
- Excellent communicator with senior stakeholders
- Comfortable with ambiguity and startup environments
- Comfortable working in real-world environments where systems and data are imperfect
- Able to balance technical understanding with business outcomes
- Can translate complexity into structured, practical execution
- A builder's mindset with the ability to create structure, process and scalable delivery
Package
- £90,000 - £120,000 salary
- Equity participation
- Pension
- 30 days holiday
- Hybrid working
- Opportunity to build and lead a delivery organisation from day one
Why Join MAIW?
This is an opportunity to help build a company from the beginning rather than inherit someone else's structure. You'll have significant autonomy, direct access to the Founder, influence over how the business evolves, and the opportunity to help shape how AI is implemented inside real businesses.
How to Apply
Send your CV to and a short note explaining why this role interests you. Please also answer the following questions:
- Describe a specific system or workflow you have personally built using AI or automation tools. What was the objective, what tools did you use, what broke, and how did you fix it?
- How long have you been actively using AI tools in a hands-on way? Please include how frequently you use them in practice.
- What tools have you used most recently to build or automate systems, and what did you use them for?
Please answer these questions personally. We're not looking for polished AI-generated responses. We're interested in your own experience, thinking and practical insights. Short, honest answers based on real projects are far more valuable than perfectly written answers generated by AI.
