Who we are

Maki Nori is a fast-growing London sushi concept and sister brand to Maki & Ramen, one of the UK's most exciting Japanese restaurant groups.

We're bold, social-first, and focused on building genuine community around great food.

The role

Two jobs in one, and we'd rather be straight about that.

On one side you run Maki Nori's social channels.

You shoot it, edit it, post it and answer the DMs.

On the other you own our event programme: you book it, host it, run it on the night, and report on whether it made money.

It suits someone who's as comfortable setting up a B2B event as they are re-editing a video at a site until it's exactly right.

You'll have real ownership from day one.

Maki Nori's social presence is yours and the London event diary is yours, so you won't be waiting for someone else to sign off every post.

Be realistic about the hours, though: events happen in the evenings and some fall on weekends.

We plan the diary ahead so you can plan your life around it, but this isn't a nine-to-five.

  • What you'll be doing
  • Content & Social: Maki Nori
  • On-site content creation and editing for Instagram, Tik Tok and Rednote
  • Community management: responding to comments and DMs, scheduling content, and booking in influencer visits
  • Building and running Maki Nori campaigns, and supporting brand partnerships for the site
  • Providing support to the wider Maki & Ramen content team
  • Events: Maki & Ramen
  • Owning and hosting our event programme, based in our London branches, with events elsewhere in the UK as the diary requires
  • Sourcing and coordinating music, entertainment, photographers and videographers
  • Building and managing Eventbrite pages end-to-end, covering listing, pricing, ticketing and guest comms
  • Briefing the site team ahead of every event so the restaurant is set up to deliver it
  • Managing each event to budget, and flagging early when it isn't going to hold
  • Partnerships and B2B: Maki & Ramen
  • Supporting London partnership activity and converting those relationships into B2B events that hit commercial KPIs
  • Handling day-to-day communications with B2B partners hosting events in our branches across the UK
  • Assisting with the UK wide partnership programme
  • Reporting
  • A post-event report on every event, delivered within five working days, covering reach, attendees, ticket sales, site performance on the night, and budget against actual
  • A monthly read on Maki Nori social performance: what grew, what didn't, and what you're changing
  • How we'll measure the role
  • Number of events delivered against plan, and attendance against target
  • Ticket revenue and site sales on event nights against budget
  • Growth and engagement on Maki Nori's channels
  • B2B partnerships converted into booked, paid events
  • Every event reported within five working days, with a recommendation attached

What we're looking for

  • Two to five years' experience in events, social media, or a combined role
  • Confident with short-form video content and what performs on Tik Tok and Instagram Reels
  • Organised enough to run several events a week without dropping the ball on reporting
  • Comfortable on-site, on camera, and on deadline
  • Able to report on your own work and be honest about what did and didn't land
  • Available for late nights and some weekends
  • Willing to travel to our sites across the UK to hit event and content objectives, including overnight stays
  • Nice to have
  • Hospitality or food & beverage background
  • Familiarity with Rednote / Xiaohongshu
  • Eventbrite, or similar ticketing platform, experience
  • Experience handling B2B or corporate clients
  • High res photography experience
  • What you get
  • Performance bonus, tied to the measures set out above
  • Full time 45 hour contract, London-based
  • The chance to shape the events and social identity of a brand at an exciting stage of growth
  • A direct line to the Marketing Director, and decisions made quickly
  • A team that moves fast and actually supports each other
