Pay: £13.50-£14.25 per hour (typical earnings up to £16 with tips + service charge)

Hours: 45 - 50 hours per week

We're looking for adaptable and confident individuals to be part of our team – you'll be provided with training to get you settled in the Maki & Ramen way!

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of food production and kitchen operations
  • Create and develop menus, ensuring high-quality and innovative dishes
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, including scheduling and performance management
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Collaborate with management to develop cost-effective strategies for menu planning and inventory management
  • Monitor food quality and presentation to maintain high standards
  • Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques and ingredients into menu offerings

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Assistant Head Chef or in a similar role. Experience working in an Asian / Japanese restaurant is ideal.
  • Strong culinary skills, including food preparation, cooking techniques, and flavour combinations
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Creative mindset with a passion for culinary arts
  • Degree or certification in Culinary Arts or a related field is preferred, but not required
