Sistema Scotland’s vision is to improve lives and strengthen communities.

Working with children, young people and their families, we focus on early intervention and stimulating generational social change.

By playing music together in ensembles and orchestras, we aim to grow confidence, respect, teamwork and aspiration in the children, young people and communities we work with.

We deliver our work through six Big Noise programmes: in Douglas in Dundee, Raploch & Fallin in Stirling, Govanhill in Glasgow, Torry in Aberdeen and Wester Hailes in Edinburgh.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our organisation to lead, manage and deliver the Big Noise Douglas programme.

You will work with the team and the community to ensure the model supports as many Douglas young people and families as possible.

As part of the Sistema Scotland leadership team, you will also participate in and build the organisation’s strategy, bringing determination to tackle inequality in Scotland and ensuring that community voices are central to solutions to tackle poverty.

You will advocate and highly value the role of early intervention, creativity, music and relationship-based practice in improving lives.

With extensive experience of successful leadership & management of teams, you will also have experience of working with children, young people & communities, and building & sustaining positive relationships with a variety of stake-holders, along with a professional standard of playing on your principal instrument.

This is a full time (35 hours per week), permanent post.

The selection process will take place in Douglas, Dundee on Thursday 17th September 2026 and will include a panel interview, a short audition on your principal instrument & a demonstration lesson with a group of young people.

It will also include a presentation to a group of community members.

All successful applicants will be subject to PVG check.
