Full-Time On-site
M

5 days out of 7, 8 hour shifts between 7:45am and 9:00pm (generally 10 - 6 / 11 - 7) - some Saturday work required

We’re looking for a Venues Support Assistant to join the team at Make UK’s Broadway House venue in Westminster.

This is a hands-on, varied role where no two days are quite the same. You’ll be part of the Operations team, helping to make sure our meetings, events and day-to-day venue services run smoothly and that every customer receives a great experience.

From setting up meeting rooms and helping clients with AV, to supporting the catering and reception teams, there’s plenty of variety. You’ll be someone who enjoys being busy, takes pride in getting the details right and is always happy to pitch in and help.

What you’ll be doing

  • Setting up meeting and conference rooms to the required specification for each event
  • Clearing and refreshing rooms ready for their next meeting
  • Vacuuming conference rooms and keeping venue areas clean and presentable
  • Meeting and greeting clients and providing AV support where needed
  • Helping customers with their requirements and making sure they have a positive experience
  • Supporting the catering and reception teams
  • Providing lounge and dining room service throughout the day
  • Supporting evening dinner and drinks service when required
  • Delivering refreshments, water and lunches to meeting rooms
  • Keeping lounge and meeting areas clean, tidy and refreshed
  • Maintaining venue storage areas and cupboards
  • Carrying out health and safety checks
  • Helping with any other duties needed by the Operations Manager or wider team

What we’re looking for

You don't need to have experience in every part of the role as training will be provided, but you'll need to bring a positive attitude and a genuine focus on customer service.

  • Cheerful, outgoing and confident speaking with customers
  • A strong team player who is happy to get stuck in
  • Reliable, motivated and able to work independently
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a real "can do" attitude
  • Naturally organised and attentive to detail
  • Comfortable working in a busy environment and dealing with different customer requirements
  • Smart and professional in appearance
  • Able to stay calm and helpful when dealing with challenging situations

What will make you successful?

You'll take pride in making sure everything looks right and works properly before a customer arrives. You'll spot when something needs doing rather than waiting to be asked, and you'll be happy to support colleagues across the venue when things get busy.

Most importantly, you'll care about the customer experience and be someone who brings energy, professionalism and a friendly approach to the team.
