We are seeking an experienced BTEC Tutor to support the delivery of our BTEC Engineering training to apprentices at our state-of-the-art training hub in Aston.

Key responsibilities:

  • To teach across a range of BTEC level 3 units.
  • To model delivery excellence and professional working behaviours.
  • To manage and oversee the progress and achievement of the Engineering Project for apprentices.
  • To coordinate effectively with external delivery team members.
  • To provide a range of support techniques to learners who require additional support to enable them to achieve.
  • To support the development of course materials including handouts and reference materials to support topic delivery.
  • To deliver training to apprentices and staff to ensure all Awarding Body and Centre requirements are met and standardized.
  • To create a motivational learning environment by providing stimulating and demanding subject delivery that allows learners to acquire the skills and knowledge required.
  • To assess learners' progress by various means of assessment and provide progress feedback and reports to learners and managers, including identifying learners at risk.
  • To ensure learners, colleagues, and employers receive timely, accurate, and constructive feedback on learners’ achievement, progress, and areas for development.
  • To maintain learner discipline in compliance with the Centre’s Disciplinary codes and practices.
  • To ensure the health and safety of learners and staff.

Technical knowledge and experience:

  • Relevant level 4 subject qualification or higher.
  • Level 3 or higher teacher training qualification.
  • Empathy with young people, ability to plan, deliver training and assess outcomes.
  • Logical approach to problem solving.
  • Good presentational and communication skills, literate and numerate.
  • Ability to motivate and command learner respect.
