Job Description
Our client is a leading fashion high street player, they're looking for a Senior Art Director who lives and breathes creativity – someone who can take a spark of an idea and turn it consistently compelling and engaging content. This is a role for a creative leader who can move seamlessly from concept to execution, inspiring teams and shaping ideas that make an impact. Reporting to the Creative Director, you are responsible for the delivery of great visual storytelling.
Hybrid – 4 days in the London-based office
Salary: up to 55K
Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- You'll collaborate with a talented mix of designers, editors, and creatives to lead the development of bold creative concepts and visual storytelling for brand campaigns and digital content.
- Translate strategy and brand insight into fresh, breakthrough visual narratives.
- Direct photo and video shoots, ensuring every frame aligns with the creative vision.
- Collaborate with designers, producers, and editors to bring visual ideas to life.
- Develop standout ideas using photography, video, and emerging creative tools.
- Support content creation across campaigns, launches, and partnerships.
- Present and sell creative ideas with confidence to senior stakeholders
- Maintain a high standard of design excellence and visual consistency across every project.
- Guide the creative process on set, ensuring alignment with the brand tone and creative intent.

- Working closely with the Creative Director on the delivery of seasonal ‘feeling and zeitgeist’ and collaborating with the other creative stakeholders on campaign delivery, you will be responsible for building the narrative and bringing this to life to be used by all channels.
- Be an effective cross-team collaborator with the ability to foster productive internal relationships including but not limited to Creative, Design, Styling, brand marketing, digital commerce, VM, design, social and studio.
- Lead and manage all team deadlines across Art Direction, Copy and Videography.
Art Direction
- You are responsible for preparing and concepting of all photographic shoots, ensuring that they deliver the creative and product vision, including everything from campaigns through to weekly product pushes. Working with the production teams on creation and execution whilst aligning with critical paths for pre- and post-production.
- Manage and inspire the content team, of Art directors, Copy writers and Videographers, ensuring high performance, collaboration, and innovation. Creating an open culture of feedback and ideas, and actively enabling progression.
- Ability to prepare for and lead a team on photographic shoots from concepting, ensuring initial vision is landed and working collaboratively to ensure all business objectives and briefs are met.
- Responsible for ensuring that shoots are concepted in line with budgets and working collaboratively to deliver against targets.
- Make the brands personality shine through every piece of content, giving us a standout in a crowded space.
Technical Knowledge & Experience
- Minimum of 5+ years leading creative Art Direction in a fashion retail brand
- In-depth experience in art direction, photography, and video production, with a sharp eye for detail, colour, and visual storytelling.
- Strong understanding of fashion, retail, and e-commerce industries, including emerging trends and digital best practices.
- Ability to translate business goals into engaging and impactful content strategies, delivering to business and financial objectives.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
- A proven track record of driving significant traffic growth across all digital channels.
- A strong understanding of trends in photographic and videography trends across all platforms, including TikTok. You know what is coming next.
- Extensive experience leading and developing a team to deliver success, managing perm and freelance resources and content creation budgets.
- An obsession for digital publishing with a thorough understanding of SEO and social analytics.
- A handle on emerging platforms and how these can be leveraged to further develop the brand's audience reach.
- A deep knowledge of how, when and where to make content shine throughout the customer journey.
