A vacancy has arisen for a Registered Biomedical Scientist based in Haematology and Blood Transfusion at Macclesfield District General Hospital.

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to join our team based at Macclesfield Hospital. You must be a strong team player who can effectively contribute to the on‐going delivery and development of the service.

The post holder will be required to participate in a shift rota (Agenda for Change terms and conditions), following a suitable period of training. Working days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays is an integral part of this post.

The Haematology Laboratory is equipped with two Beckman Coulter DxH 900 FBC analysers, 2 Werfen ACL TOP 350 coagulation analysers and Starrsed Auto Compact ESR analyser. Blood Transfusion is equipped with a Bio‐Rad IH‐1000 blood‐grouping analyser. The LIMS system is Clinisys Winpath Enterprise.

Continuous professional development is actively encouraged and attendance at appropriate internal and external courses is supported. Cross‐site working at other North Midlands and Cheshire Pathology Service laboratories may be a requirement.
