To cover a period of maternity leave, we are looking for an enthusiastic dietitian who wishes to further develop their skills whilst working within the specialties of Oncology and the Home Enteral Feeding team, whilst supporting UHNM Nutrition and Dietetics.
Deliver dietetic services to oncology/haematology patients, including inpatient and outpatient areas under the care of UHNM Nutrition and Dietetics, and manage a caseload for Home Enterally fed patients in nursing homes as part of UHNM Nutrition and Dietetics.
Responsibilities
- Deliver dietetic services to oncology/haematology patients, using a wide range of appropriate and sensitive communication skills, counselling, and behaviour change techniques.
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing dietetic input to patients with cancer and support a range of adult patients requiring Home Enteral Feeding.
- Liaise with other disciplines and agencies as required in the planning and implementation of patient care.
- Educate patients and their relatives / carers about their condition and ensure care information and support is available.

Essential
- Registered dietitian (with relevant BSc, postgraduate diploma or masters)
- Health Care Professions Council registration
Desirable
- Member of British Dietetic Association (BDA)
Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience
- Experience of working in different hospital settings e.g. out-patients, Community HEF
- Demonstrate relevant work experience within Oncology
Personal Qualities
- Demonstrate empathy, sensitivity and tact with patients and their families
- Ability to work as part of a team and work autonomously
- Can independently travel across Staffordshire for service delivery
