University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship for this role. This is in accordance with UKVI guidelines and legislation, as these roles do not meet the skill nor salary threshold for sponsorship. If you hold a graduate visa, you are welcome to apply for this role; however UHNM will be unable to offer sponsorship at the end of your graduate visa. Many Clinical Support Workers have trained to Senior Clinical Support Worker level, with some training to top up to Registered Nurses.

Main duties

The role of the Clinical Support Worker varies by ward or department, but you would be delivering care and support to patients and learning new skills in assessment and documentation.

Before you apply

If shortlisted, you will need to attend a full-day assessment on Saturday 28 February 2026 at County Hospital, Stafford. There will be no alternative date or online interviews due to practical elements. This event is for County Hospital, Stafford only. Do not apply if you want to be based at Royal Stoke Hospital, as there will be no offers for that site. On interview day, bring full ID documents including Right to Work documentation and UKVI documentation (where applicable).

  • A British birth certificate along with evidence of National Insurance Number
  • Two proofs of address are also required, such as a bank statement or utility bill (dated within the last 3 months), a tenancy agreement / mortgage statement / council tax statement (dated within the last 12 months), or a driving licence (in current address and valid). If any ID is in a different name, provide proof of name change.
