Lead the clinical pharmacy service within the Neurology and Stroke Directorate at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. This is a secondment role covering an average of 37.5 hours per week with occasional on-call duty.

Main Duties

  • Provide high-quality clinical service and risk management support to the Neurology and Stroke Directorate.
  • Supervise diploma students, junior staff and manage clinical pharmacists across the Trust.
  • Contribute to strategic development of the pharmacy service and collaborate with lead pharmacists in other specialties.
  • Deliver occasional clinical support to other specialties within the Clinical Pharmacy team as required.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Pharmacy (MPharm) and membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy Diploma / MSc or equivalent.
  • Independent Prescriber registered on GPhC or willingness to undertake annotation training.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS).
  • MSc in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent.
  • Formal management and/or leadership qualification.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Comprehensive clinical pharmacist experience across a broad range of specialties.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development and strong communication skills.
  • IT proficiency and good understanding of medicines safety and governance.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within Trauma, Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery.
  • Involvement in audit, research, guideline writing and education.

Personal Qualities

  • Ability to travel between sites and attend external meetings.
  • Adherence to policies, procedures and standards.

Benefits & Conditions

Band 8a – Salary Β£55,690 to Β£62,682 per annum pro rata. Full-time secondment contract. Working pattern full-time.
