PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The Senior Events Project Manager will play a pivotal role in delivering high-profile events while leading and mentoring a team of professionals. This role involves managing the end-to-end event lifecycle, ensuring client objectives are met through creative and operational excellence. The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact for clients, overseeing project delivery, budget management, and supplier coordination, while driving account growth and fostering long-term client relationships.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Production
    • Lead end-to-end delivery of complex events, from briefing to post-event evaluation.
    • Oversee on-site teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution and high standards.
    • Manage conference content, AV coordination, and technical show delivery.
    • Maintain overall accountability for project success and delivery quality.
  • Logistics
    • Take full ownership of event logistics from concept through execution.
    • Manage external suppliers (AV, content, entertainment) across all stages.
    • Provide expert guidance on technical/AV requirements and industry trends.
    • Ensure delivery aligns with processes, timelines, and high-quality standards.
  • Team Management
    • Lead and develop team members through training, development and mentoring.
    • Drive performance via KPIs, PDPs and regular 1–1s and reviews.
    • Support team growth while ensuring strong project delivery.
    • Mentor junior staff, especially on new client projects.
  • Client Management & Account Development
    • Act as main client contact, building strong long-term relationships.
    • Lead client briefings and ensure proposals align with business objectives.
    • Identify growth opportunities and support new business pitches.
    • Maintain high service levels, ensuring strong client satisfaction and ROI.
  • Creative
    • Lead development of strategic, on-brand creative event concepts.
    • Facilitate creative kick-offs and oversee content and design direction.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to shape proposals and presentations.
    • Contribute to pitches, balancing innovation with practical delivery.
  • Budget Management
    • Own financial performance, budgets, and profitability of events.
    • Monitor costs, manage risks, and protect margins throughout delivery.
    • Approve budgets, purchase orders, and invoices within limits.
    • Lead post-event reviews to assess performance and improvements.

This list is not exhaustive, and you will be required to undertake other duties as directed by your manager.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience as an Event Project Manager, ideally within an agency environment.
  • Proven ability to lead end-to-end event delivery for high-profile, complex events.
  • Strong team leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Experienced in budget management (£70k–£400k+) and maintaining project profitability.
  • Confident client lead, with excellent relationship-building and account growth experience.
  • Skilled in creating and presenting event proposals and pitches.
  • Solid knowledge of AV production and technical requirements.
  • Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Experienced in managing external suppliers and show logistics.
  • Comfortable with post-event analysis, ROI reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Up to date with industry trends and event innovations.
