Major Recruitment are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join our client’s site at their manufacturing site near Brent, London. The primary role of the Quality Assurance Manager is to provide professional and effective support to the factory in relation to technical and quality issues. Ensure tasks are completed to the correct standards. You will be responsible for leading and motivating the Quality Assurance team in monitoring and evaluating product and processing systems. Your main accountabilities will include understanding and applying relevant standards so that Customer and Legal requirements are achieved and maintained. This role is key to driving improved GMP Audits across the site. Key Responsibilities as Quality Assurance Manager: * Implement into all factory areas the standards by which the Company operates and seek to raise them continuously (includes production, goods in, engineering, process…) * Training of staff against the systems and procedures in place * Deputise for the Technical Manager in their absence. * Attending trials to create product standards in conjunction with NPD and Production Dept. * Investigation of Factory non-conformances and work on corrective actions. * Investigation of customer complaints and implementation of corrective and preventative actions based on trending and analysis of data. * Manages the training & development requirements of the Quality team and ensures that direct reports are properly equipped to undertake their roles. * Manage the QA team & is responsible for its activity. Recruit and retain the right calibre of people. Lead, motivate and inspire the Quality * Generate technical business KPI information, communicate, trends and highlight issues. * Working with production to validate all processes and procedures. * Document control. * Supplier Approval +NCR. * Managing a small team of QA/QC’s * Carrying out internal and hygiene audits in conjunction with the appropriate departmental managers to verify that the factory is complying to all customer codes of practice and BRC standards. * Responsibility for pest control across the whole site. * Reviewing internal Work Instructions and practices vs. customer codes of practice / BRC requirements to implement and train any required changes. * Root cause team & data analysis. * GMP trending. * Pest Control Management. Salary up to £48,000 per annum d.o.e + benefits 25 days holiday + bank holidays Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5pm Career progression Skills required to be a Quality Assurance Manager: A minimum of 2 year’s experience within a similar role Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control standards Ability to troubleshoot quality issues and implement solutions effectively. BRCG experience. Experience in QMS Systems. Qualifications Qualification in Food Science, Engineering, Operations Management, or related discipline career progression. HACCP Level 3, Level 4 would be desirable. Level 3 Food Safety, Level 4 would be desirable. Understanding and competence in trained factory tasks must be demonstrated. The ability to follow instruction and carry out new tasks. The ability to effectively lead the team and provide training where required.
