Major Recruitment is currently seeking Nuclear Mechanical Engineers, Designers and Technicians at all levels to join a major recruitment client delivering work across some of the UK's most significant nuclear projects. These are long-term contract opportunities supporting projects across the nuclear lifecycle, including decommissioning, power generation, new build and defence. With stable 12-month contracts, renewable annually, and a secure programme of work expected to continue for up to 15+ years, these roles offer excellent long-term continuity for experienced nuclear professionals.
Opportunities are available across multiple projects, with a current priority requirement on a major engineering programme. Additional projects are also available, with the most suitable opportunity determined following CV review and discussions with the relevant Project Managers.

- Hybrid working: 3 days onsite and 2 days working from home

The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to contribute to complex, high-value engineering programmes that are critical to the UK's nuclear infrastructure. The project won't be confirmed until your CV is represented. Depending on your experience and the project you join, you could be responsible for:
- Developing and delivering mechanical designs and engineering solutions.
- Producing and reviewing calculations, analyses, drawings, 3D models and technical documentation.
- Supporting projects through the full design and engineering lifecycle.
- Resolving complex technical challenges and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and key project stakeholders.
- Supporting project planning, delivery and technical decision-making.
- Maintaining engineering configuration, design intent and technical integrity.
- Applying relevant engineering procedures, codes, standards and safety requirements.
- Assessing design changes, concessions and technical queries.
- Supporting project safety assessments and effective risk management.
- Providing technical leadership or acting as an Engineering Lead or Technical Authority where appropriate to your level of responsibility.
- Supporting continuous improvement and Learning from Experience activities.
- Contributing technical input to project proposals and tender activities where required.

Essential experience and skills:
- Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Proven ability to deliver technical activities across projects of varying complexity.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineers and stakeholders from multiple disciplines.
- A proactive approach, with the ability to take ownership of technical delivery and challenge constructively where appropriate.
- Strong knowledge of CAD tools and General Engineering Drawing Practice.
- Experience producing or reviewing engineering documentation, designs, drawings and technical reports.
- A strong understanding of engineering procedures, standards and quality requirements.
Qualifications:
- BEng or MEng in Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent relevant engineering qualification with substantial demonstrable experience.
- Chartered Engineer status is desirable but not essential.
- Ideally, 3+ years of experience working on nuclear projects.
- A valid UK driving licence.
- The unrestricted right to work in the UK.
- Eligibility to obtain the required security clearance for the project.
