Major Recruitment is currently seeking Nuclear EC&I Engineers at all levels to join our prestigious client on numerous long-term projects, expected to last over 10 years. Our client, a leading well-known supplier to the UK\’s nuclear industry with a global presence, is offering exceptional opportunities across the entire nuclear life cycle.
Your role as a Nuclear EC&I Engineer will be instrumental in supporting various key sectors in the United Kingdom, such as nuclear decommissioning, power generation, new construction, and defence. This position ensures the growth, sustainability, and security of these vital industries.
Hybrid: 3 days working in the office and 2 days working from home.
Location: Cumbria, Warrington or Preston based office.
We are currently recruiting for the following positions (inside IR35):
- Principal EC&I Engineer (£68.64ph)
- Senior EC&I Engineer (£62.40ph)
- EC&I Engineer (£57.20ph)
- Designer/Technician (£52ph)

- Creating Block Cable Diagrams.
- Developing Single Line Diagrams.
- Designing instrument loops and hook-ups.
- Generating Termination Drawings.
- Creating Control System Sequence Drawings.
- Producing General Arrangements.
- Designing Panel Layouts.
- Preparing instrument datasheets.
- Developing 61508 Suite of Drawings (electrical safety mechanisms).
- Creating Specifications.
- Designing Electrical Power Distribution.
- Developing Control Systems.
- Instrument Design.
- Reviewing and validating drawings and documents.
- Addressing EMC Considerations (e.g., cable segregation, Faraday principle).
- Participating in Risk Assessments.
- Collaborating with other engineering disciplines.
Qualifications:
- A relevant bachelor\’s or master\’s degree in electrical engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in nuclear EC&I engineering or a similar role (for experienced engineers).
- Proficiency in relevant software tools for design and analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
