  • Rotating continental shift pattern: 2 weeks working 3 shifts, 1 week working 4 shifts

The Role - Ink Technician:

As an Ink Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the printing operation by preparing and managing inks to precise customer and production specifications. Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will use specialist colour management and dispensing systems to ensure consistent quality, minimise waste, and maintain efficient production flow. This is a hands-on role requiring excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider production team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare inks using GSE dispensing systems and X-Rite colour management tools
  • Produce accurate colour matches in line with production schedules and customer specifications
  • Manage and reuse press return inks efficiently
  • Troubleshoot ink-related issues on printing presses
  • Deliver inks to production presses and return unused stock to the ink store
  • Unload ink deliveries and safely store materials within the designated compound
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards within the ink store area
  • Carry out routine maintenance of dispensing systems
  • Safely handle 200kg barrels and 20kg pails using appropriate equipment and handling tools
  • Work in line with strict Health & Safety and quality standards at all times

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Follow all workplace safety procedures and company policies
  • Identify and report hazards, accidents, near-misses, or unsafe practices
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and housekeeping
  • Ensure products consistently meet quality assurance standards and KPI targets
  • Support a positive, respectful, and inclusive working environment

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in an Ink Technician, Ink Mixing, or similar manufacturing role
  • Experience using GSE systems or equivalent colour dispensing equipment preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Flexible approach to working hours and overtime when required
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Reasonable level of physical fitness due to lifting, bending, and manual handling requirements
