Major Recruitment are seeking an experienced Field Operator to join our client’s team in Haverhill on a permanent basis. This role involves handling raw materials, intermediates, and finished products, as well as performing logistic, sacking, tapping, and filling operations. The goal is to ensure that the production process is carried out efficiently while adhering to quality, safety, and environmental standards.

Headquartered in Europe with sites in Switzerland, they operate production facilities in France, Italy, and the Netherlands, as well as R&D centres in Italy and the Netherlands. Additionally, they have multiple manufacturing sites and R&D centres across the Americas and China.

Shifts:

  • Week 1: Monday to Friday; 7am to 7pm
  • Week 2: Monday to Friday; 7pm to 7am
  • Week 3: Week off

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary: 30,000 – 35,000 (with 20% shift allowance, total compensation: 36,000 – 42,000)
  • Sign-on Bonus: 3,000 (received after 3 months once probation is passed)
  • Annual Bonus: 6% (short-term incentive bonus)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage goods in the warehouse
  • Handle raw materials, intermediates, and finished products
  • Fill tanks and pack finished products
  • Manage recycling and waste
  • Work in accordance with company values, HR policies, and health, safety & environmental (HS&E) standards

Position Complexity:

  • Handle raw materials with precision
  • Engage in packaging, tracking finishing mixers, and monitoring utilities
  • Maintain high standards as the final stage before products reach customers

Required Knowledge & Experience:

  • Good knowledge of production and warehouse operations
  • 3 years of experience in a production department (preferably in the chemical industry)
  • Safe working certificate for forklift operation (beneficial)
  • Knowledge of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations
  • Must be physically fit
  • Previous experience in an industrial environment is essential (experience in food or pharma industries may not be suitable due to cleanliness standards)

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience in production is essential
  • Chemical production experience is highly beneficial but not mandatory
  • Forklift driving experience is advantageous
  • Must have experience working in industrial environment
