Major Recruitment is recruiting a Workforce Planner / Onsite Account Manager for our client in Burton-on-Trent. This is a fixed-term role initially for 3-6 months with the potential to become permanent.

The role involves managing the full lifecycle of agency workers, ensuring the factory is appropriately resourced across all shifts, and acting as the primary liaison between HR, Production, and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the daily update of the site agency labour plan.
  • Analyse labour utilisation, overtime, absence, agency reliance, and efficiency data.
  • Provide HR and management with insight to support recruitment, workforce forecasting, and operational decision-making.
  • Coordinate with external agencies to secure temporary labour and manage agency contracts and invoices.
  • Conduct inductions and support onboarding for temporary workers.
  • Monitor real-time labour deployment, highlighting shortages, surplus capacity, and redeployment opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records in HR and time & attendance systems.
  • Support compliance with Working Time Regulations, shift policies, and skill matrices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy, reduce overtime, and optimise agency usage.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing agency workers or temporary labour.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and reporting skills.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • GCSE-level maths and English (or equivalent).
  • Experience using time and attendance or planning systems.
  • Flexibility to oversee multiple shifts as required.
