Technical Support Engineer – Electrical Bias

You’ve fixed everything from balers to compactors – now it’s time to lead.

You’ve spent years in the field solving electrical and mechanical faults on industrial equipment. You’re respected for being the person others turn to when things get tricky. Now, you’re ready to take on a role where you can share your knowledge, lead from the front, and shape how technical support is delivered across the UK.

In this role, you will be the electrical-biased technical lead in a growing, ambitious company.

What’s in it for you?

A move into leadership, without leaving engineering behind

Ownership over technical standards, training, and quality

Direct input into the support and development of a UK-wide field service team

Flexible work—based in Rochdale, with travel to client sites when needed

A collaborative, respected culture where your ideas will be acted on

A competitive salary of £55k–£60k, company vehicle, fuel card, and phone

What you’ll be doing:

Providing expert advice to engineers and clients (on-site and over the phone)

Supporting the quoting process for technical work and repairs

Coaching and supervising engineers in the field

Identifying training needs and shaping future technical capabilities

Using systems like Big Change and SAGE to keep stock and service records sharp

Occasionally travelling to customer sites for support, training, or troubleshooting

What we’re looking for:

Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge, ideally within recycling or industrial equipment

Experience leading, training, or supporting engineering teams

Comfortable with technical support, problem-solving, and customer conversations

Confident with IT tools (Excel, Word, SAGE) and keen to learn the systems

Full UK driving licence (forklift licence is a big plus)

Someone self-motivated, hands-on, and ready to grow with us

Next steps:

We get that you might not have an up-to-date CV—and that’s okay. Just send over what you have, but let me know it isn\’t up to date

Equal opportunities:

We’re committed to building a diverse, inclusive workplace and welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates.
