We are looking for a Production Planner / Production Scheduler to join a fast‑paced manufacturing environment in Staffordshire. This is a key role responsible for planning and coordinating production schedules to ensure efficient output, on‑time delivery, and optimal use of materials, labour, and capacity. You will act as the central link between Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain, Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams, ensuring all areas are aligned to meet customer demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and long‑term production schedules
- Balance customer demand with material availability, labour, and machine capacity
- Coordinate closely with internal teams and international production/maintenance teams to ensure alignment
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules in response to issues such as downtime or material shortages
- Lead or support planning and production meetings
- Maintain accurate data within ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP)
- Monitor inventory levels and support material planning activities
- Produce reports on key performance indicators including on‑time delivery and capacity utilisation
About You
- 2–5 years’ experience in production planning, scheduling, or a manufacturing environment
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (SAP or similar)
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong problem‑solving ability with a proactive approach
- Able to work well under pressure and manage competing priorities
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or related field preferred
- Equivalent hands‑on manufacturing experience will also be considered
