School Staffing is delighted to be recruiting for this prestigious secondary academy in Fareham graded GOOD by Ofsted.

Actual Salary – £17,674 – £18,390 (Full time equivalent salary £24,440 – £25,430)

Hours 30.5 hours per week, 5 days a week, 40 weeks per year

08:15 until 15:40 Mondays

08:15 – 14:40 Tuesday – Friday

The Communication/Sign Language Support Worker role

You must have:

• British Sign language Level 3
• Maths & English GCSE pass or equivalent
• Good clear Signing Skills
• Experience of working with deaf and hard of hearing people
• Good written and verbal communication skills and be able to relate well to school staff, candidates of all abilities, parents and carers.
• Be able to work in an organised and methodical way and have sound organisational and coordination skills

Duties:

• To enable quality of access to information and education to meet the needs of learners
• To empower the learner through your use of a range of appropriate support strategies, encouraging the individual learnr's development within educational, social, linguistic and cultural contexts
• To consider the learner's needs within their peer group context & to provide appropriate communication strategies from a range of skills, helping to facilitate successful integrtation into the Group
• To provide access to a range of learning materials using appropraie communication methods to match the needs of the individual learner.
