We are looking for a National Account Manager with experience of selling Technical products to the Rail sector for an established technical solutions provider.
Opportunity
As an Account Manager you will work with Rail Manufacturing and Maintenance companies to supply Electrical and Electronics equipment. Your main focus as their primary point of contact will be building, maintaining, and expanding strong relationships to ensure long‑term customer satisfaction and revenue growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day interactions with rail customers.
- Account planning for repair programmes, APUs, electronics overhauls, and component lifecycle extensions.
- Support quotation development for repairs, spares, modifications, and reliability upgrades.
- Track customer fleets, reliability trends, and planned maintenance cycles to identify opportunities.
- Work closely with Engineering and Aftersales to deliver timely technical responses.
- Escalate and coordinate resolution of NCRs, warranty issues, and repeat‑failure investigations.
- Monitor performance and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure the company has an opportunity in mid‑life overhaul programmes, refurbishment cycles, and component replacement schedules.
- Represent the company at customer reviews, depot visits, and industry workshops worldwide.
- Provide structured feedback internally on recurring field issues.
Skills & Qualifications
The successful candidate will have experience of managing accounts in the Rail Rolling Stock market and an understanding of repair processes, engineering change, and depot operations. Excellent relationship building skills are essential as are good organisation and planning skills. Ideally you will have experience of Electrical / Electronic solutions with a HND ideal. You will need the ability to translate technical issues clearly to customers, have good communication and presentation skills, and be happy to travel to customer/potential customer sites, exhibitions and networking events. A Full UK Driving Licence is also required.

This is a remote‑based role covering clients nationally with a good basic salary, company car and commission scheme. Benefits also include holidays, pension and death in service.
