Major Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Miller to join our clients growing engineering and manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC Miller or Manual Miller with experience within precision engineering and manufacturing environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, operating and programming milling machines to produce high-quality precision components to customer specifications and engineering drawings.
We are looking for individuals who take pride in quality, accuracy and workmanship, with a strong understanding of machining processes and engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities- Set, operate and programme conventional and/or CNC milling machines
- Manufacture precision engineered components to required tolerances
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures and machine settings
- Carry out machine adjustments and tool changes
- Inspect components using measuring equipment including: Micrometers, Shadowgraphs where applicable
- Complete production and quality documentation accurately
- Monitor machine performance and identify production or quality issues
- Report tooling, material or machine faults promptly
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and health & safety
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities
- Work closely with production, engineering and quality teams
- Previous experience as a Miller, CNC Miller or Milling Machinist within manufacturing or engineering
- Experience setting and operating milling machines
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience using precision measuring equipment
- Strong understanding of tolerances and quality standards
- Good communication and team-working skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Good understanding of health & safety within manufacturing
