A Proposals Engineer is sought to work in a busy sales and tendering team within a medium sized Engineering company in the Newcastle area. As a Proposals Engineer you will perform a broad range of internal and external functions that support the proposals process including enquiry logging, collation of technical and commercial information, liaison with clients and suppliers and the preparation/submittal of proposal documentation to the client. You will also monitor enquiries submitted and establish an awareness of the current market situation.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate enquiry documentation
- Identify, clarify and resolve any queries/discrepancies relating to the enquiry documentation with the client
- Request relevant and required technical and commercial information from appropriate functions
- Perform proposal review
- Collate all relevant and required technical and commercial information
- Produce cost estimates using company standard templates
- Prepare and submit the proposal documentation to the client
- Liaise with client during bid clarification process and obtain clarification from appropriate internal functions where necessary
- Maintain database of enquiries and report on a weekly basis
- Assist in inputs to and maintenance of client pre-qualification and registration requests
Qualifications
- An understanding of commercial contracts and experience of the offshore, renewables, oil & gas or power generation sectors.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work to a high standard with the Microsoft suite of programs.
