THE COMPANY
Major IT & Digital are proud to be partnering with a leading international business with over 30 years industry experience delivering industrial IT solutions across both manufacturing and infrastructure businesses.
Successfully achieved Investors in People award for the last 12 years and continue to invest in self-development for all internal teams. Due to the nature of the work involved you will be required to attend the Redditch office 5 days per week during the training period.
THE ROLE
As part of company growth within the technical engineering team, my client has immediate requirements for a Technical Service Engineer to support customer requirements and drive technical excellence by developing bespoke solutions.
Some of the key requirements of this role include pre-sales support, strong technical troubleshooting at a 2nd line level including occasional travel to client sites for installations and upgrade projects.
Please note, this is a client facing role with an ability to communicate to a non-technical audience with an ability to build strong client relationships.
**Car and license is a must for this role with full right to work! No sponsorship available
**Office based 5 days per week during the training period (3-6 months)
THE PERSON
- Two years’ commercial experience in a similar technical engineering role ideally within the Industrial IT sector (not essential)
- Having worked with similar technologies such as PLC, OPC or SCADA (training can be provided)
- A technical awareness of OPC, VPN routers, IoT platforms and cybersecurity tools
- A good understanding of IT networks and infrastructure systems
- Ability to problem solve with a strong analytical focus and solutions focused mindset
- Ability to communicate technical problems and resolve issues clearly to both technical teams and non-technical customers
- A willingness to keep up-to-date with the latest technologies and constantly self-learning as part of an inhouse training programme
