About the Role
We are recruiting for a highly organised and proactive
Procurement Executive to join a growing food manufacturing business.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or production coordination experience who is looking to develop their career within a fast-paced FMCG environment.
Working closely with Production, Warehouse, Quality and Finance teams, you will play a key role in ensuring the timely supply of raw materials, packaging and production consumables required to support daily manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Purchasing & Supply Management
- Purchase raw materials, ingredients, packaging materials and production consumables in line with production requirements.
- Monitor stock levels and maintain material availability to support uninterrupted production.
- Raise and manage purchase orders through SAP or ERP systems.
- Coordinate supplier deliveries and ensure materials arrive on time.
- Resolve supplier shortages, delays and quality issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing information and supplier data.
- Production Coordination
- Liaise closely with Production Planning and Warehouse teams to support manufacturing schedules.
- Assist with inventory management to minimise waste and excess stock.
- Coordinate urgent purchasing requirements when necessary.
- Support new product development projects by sourcing new ingredients and packaging solutions.
- Obtain and compare supplier quotations.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Monitor market pricing trends and report potential supply risks.
- Support supplier negotiations and performance reviews.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Work with Quality teams on supplier approvals and specification management.
- Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure purchasing activities comply with company procedures and food safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records to support audits and product traceability requirements.
- Assist with customer, regulatory and internal audits where required.
- Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain or production coordination.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication and relationship-building skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data management.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
- Experience within food manufacturing or FMCG environments.
- Experience using SAP or other ERP systems.
- Understanding of inventory control and production planning processes.
