Position – Children’s Deputy Manager

What’s in it for you? A base salary of £35,000 p.a. plus one contracted sleep-in per week. Total salary £38,200 p.a. Plus benefits such as 28 days annual leave, bonuses and pension

Where you’ll be doing it? Radstock, Somerset

Your employment contract – Permanent

Your hours – You will take part in a pre-planned shift pattern consisting of 2 long days and one 8 hour per week, plus one sleep-in

Who would you be working for ? A therapeutic children and young people’s care provider with a network of homes throughout the UK. Their goal is to focus on staff development so team members undergo continuous training to support growth and knowledge. You will have adequate tools to carry out your job safely, whilst feeling valued.

What would your responsibilities be? The main aim of a Deputy Manager is to assist the Manager with the development of the service and staff team, to ensure high levels of therapeutic support is given to the children and young people in the home. Duties include working in partnership with the young people , professionals, staff team and families, in order to meet their needs. Leading on reflective practice and ensuring this is upheld, supervision of team members to build confidence, identify team members who require support and have the ability to work collaboratively for overall improvement, contributing to quality inductions, keeping home paperwork up to date, to name but a few.

Requirements? We are looking for people who have worked in residential children’s social care for at least one year and have had senior support worker responsibilities such as rota management/staff development involvement. We need drivers and people with an NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare. You will naturally have the strength of character to deal with situations, that at times can be challenging in a caring and positive way, setting out boundaries in accordance with the industry training standards
