What you must hold
- You must hold NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent). This is essential due to the nature of the work on high-voltage infrastructure.
Resettlement Opportunity Available
If you’re still in service, we can support a 2-3 week placement during your resettlement period, where you will:
- Get hands‑on exposure to HV environments

What the Role Looks Like
You’ll be working as a field‑based Service Engineer, supporting:
- HV/MV switchgear and transformers (415V-400kV)
- Sites across power generation, T&D, and industrial environments
This role involves:
- UK-wide travel
- Staying away during the week
- Working independently and within small teams
What You’ll Be Doing
- Maintenance, inspection, and servicing of HV electrical equipment
- Supporting reliability of critical infrastructure
- Working to RAMS, permits, and isolation procedures
- Completing accurate documentation and reporting
- Operating safely in high‑risk environments

You’ll be well suited if you have experience in:
- Electrical maintenance (plant, vehicles, aircraft, or systems)
