A Principal Analysis Engineer with strong FEA skills and experience of Orcaflex, Simo or Riflex is sought by an Aberdeen based Subsea Engineering business.

As Principal Engineer you will work closely with the discipline lead and undertake responsibilities and workloads concerning various analysis scope of works. These will range from project assignments to tenders and studies working on several assignments simultaneously.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Work with lead/manager regarding deliverables/work scope and meet agreed objectives.
  • Evaluate the forecast target deliverable dates and set breakdown goals and clear deliverables with the team for which you are responsible.
  • Independent analysis works concerning flexible and riser installations; includes setting up basis of analysis, calculating and issuing analysis reports within deadlines.
  • Manage and incorporate change in data, method, vessel, etc.
  • Import and use of installation vessel RAOs.
  • Review of hydrodynamic/load case data etc.
  • Perform hydrodynamic installation analysis for different subsea products (e.g. pipeline, flexible products, subsea structures, spools) for tenders and projects, and support for ongoing offshore operations.
  • Work as a project team member and proactively contribute to other disciplines through efficient communication.
  • Contribute as a fellow discipline team member and increase the team's analysis capabilities, including enhancing interface between installation and analysis engineering disciplines.
  • Deliver all work in line with the Business Management System, ensuring quality and timely deliverables of assignments.
  • Compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • When requested, review candidates for hire and provide input/recommendation to discipline.
  • Available to travel to other offices or offshore, sometimes on short notice.

GREAT CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will be educated to a degree level with significant industry experience with a special focus on flexible/riser installations, experience with hydrodynamics and subsea lift operations. You will need a high level of proficiency with OrcaFlex/Simo/Riflex software, an in-depth knowledge of current marine operations codes such as DNV, NORSOK, API and a solid grasp of engineering design, offshore transportation and installation methods. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential as is the ability to collaborate well with colleagues and achieve goals. You will be a good organiser with the ability to act decisively based on data and analytical skills. Excellent workload and time management skills are essential as is the ability to perform under high pressure and meet deadlines.
