The Role
Working as part of our site team, you will support the day-to-day operation of the stores function by:
- Receiving deliveries, managing stock, issuing parts and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Ensuring our stores are well organised, compliant and ready to support planned maintenance activities and day-to-day operations.
What you’ll be doing
- Receiving, checking and booking in deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Inspecting deliveries for accuracy, quality and damage, reporting any discrepancies.
- Storing materials, spare parts and equipment safely, ensuring correct labelling and stock locations.
- Issuing tools, consumables and spare parts to engineering and operational teams.
- Maintaining accurate stock records using inventory management systems.
- Carrying out routine stock checks and supporting periodic stocktakes.
- Monitoring stock levels and highlighting replenishment requirements.
- Preparing materials for planned maintenance activities and site outages.
- Safely handling and storing hazardous materials in accordance with COSHH and site procedures.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and compliant stores environment.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the stores function.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is organised, reliable and takes pride in maintaining high standards. You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience in a stores, warehouse or inventory role, preferably within an industrial, engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Experience using stock control or inventory management systems.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across site.
- GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths.
It would also be advantageous if you have:
- A forklift truck licence.
- A basic understanding of mechanical or electrical components.
- Experience working within a regulated or industrial environment.
