Major Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced maintenance engineer on an ongoing temporary basis for our client, a well-established busy precision steel tube manufacturer, based in Oldbury. This is an immediate start for somebody with a Maintenance Engineering or Engineering Qualification (City & Guilds), but time served within and industrial manufacturing environment is essential Key duties: Support all production departments across site with mechanical engineering support Reacting to machine breakdowns & be proactive towards preventive maintenance programs and schedules. Experienced in drive motor & gearbox repairs / rebuilds as well as hydraulic systems knowledge. Undertake routine / planned maintenance on all equipment. Attend breakdowns on all machines in a timely and safe manner. Conduct planned maintenance and keep the maintenance software up to date suggesting improvements where necessary. Deal with the day-to-day breakdown repairs and general house-keeping tasks around the facilities. Support all UK sites as and when required. Help drive continuous improvement projects. Bring fresh ideas - could we be doing this better? Develop and maintain planned and preventative maintenance systems and procedures for all key items of plant and machinery. Recognise, remedy or report failings in skills, equipment or procedures. Maintain a clean, safe working environment and good housekeeping standards. Maintain good communications and relationships throughout the company.
