Major recruitment are currently recruiting for a multi skilled maintenance engineer for our Birmingham based client, starting work immediately - full time. The successful applicant will work on a temporary basis initially, however a permanent position will be available for the right person.
We are looking for somebody who is experienced working within industrial manufacturing environments, with a background in chemicals, metal, plastics or coatings. As an experienced electrical / mechanical maintenance engineer you will hit the ground running:
- Executing planned preventative maintenance and conducting routine inspections across the site - following the sites CMMS.
- Responding to equipment breakdowns, diagnosing root causes and delivering long‑term engineering solutions - not just quick fixes.
- Completing maintenance work requests, keeping accurate records, and supporting continuous improvement activities such as 5S, Lean and Kaizen as well as supporting installation projects.
We need a proactive, hands‑on Maintenance Engineer to play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient running of our clients plant, equipment and facilities. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, continuous improvement and getting involved in a wide variety of engineering tasks.
You need to be an adaptable, safety‑conscious engineer with a strong problem‑solving mindset, who is comfortable working independently, using initiative and prioritising tasks effectively. Confident interacting across departments and working with external contractors. Multi skilled with either an electrical or mechanical biased.
£18-£23 per hour D.O.E. Monday to Friday. You must have the flexibility to work outside of normal working hours when required. Birmingham based.
