Major Recruitment Oldbury are delighted to be recruiting for our Sutton Coldfield based client who are seeking an experienced CNC Operator to start immediately. Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4pm and a 12.30pm finish on Fridays.

Duties and tasks will include:

  • Set, and operate CNC machines including: Fanuc-controlled machining centres, Mazak lathes and mills (Mazatrol), Citizen machinery (Mitsubishi controls)
  • Interpret 2D engineering drawings and CAD data to generate accurate machining programs
  • Select tools, set up fixtures, and optimize cutting parameters
  • Measure and inspect parts using a wide range of precision equipment (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
  • Complete and understand quality control documentation
  • Optimize cycle times, reduce the number of machining operations, and contribute to process improvements
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to refine designs and improve manufacturability

  • Strong skills in Fanuc, Mazatrol, and Mitsubishi controller programming
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles
  • Confident in using a range of inspection tools and methods
  • Highly organized with good attention to detail
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to identify and implement improvements
  • Comfortable working independently and in collaboration with other departments
