We are recruiting for an organised and proactive Production Procurement Executive to join a growing food manufacturing business based in South East London. This is a varied, hands-on role supporting the smooth running of factory operations by ensuring raw materials, packaging, ingredients and production consumables are purchased, available and delivered on time. The successful candidate will work closely with production, warehouse, quality and finance teams to maintain supply continuity, manage supplier performance, control costs and help prevent production disruption.
The Role
- Purchasing raw materials, packaging, ingredients and production consumables according to production needs
- Monitoring stock levels and ensuring materials are available to support planned production
- Raising and managing purchase orders using SAP, ERP or internal systems
- Coordinating supplier deliveries and following up shortages, delays or quality concerns
- Maintaining accurate purchasing records, pricing information and supplier data
- Liaising with production planning and warehouse teams to support daily manufacturing operations
- Helping to balance stock levels, reducing shortages, overstock and material waste
- Coordinating urgent purchases where required
- Comparing supplier quotations and supporting cost-reduction activity
- Monitoring raw material pricing and flagging risks or changes to management
- Supporting supplier reviews in relation to quality, price, service and delivery performance
- Working with quality teams on supplier approvals, documentation and specifications
- Ensuring purchasing activity supports company procedures, food safety, traceability and audit requirements
- Supporting continuous improvement across purchasing, stock control and supplier processes
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, production coordination, materials planning or inventory control
- Experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, packaging, ingredients, raw materials or a factory-based environment would be highly beneficial
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Confident communication skills with suppliers and internal departments
- Good Excel and data management skills
- SAP or ERP experience would be advantageous
- Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities
- A proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving ability
- Chinese / Mandarin language skills would be beneficial, but are not essential for this role
