Location: Leeds
As an Accountant, you will provide essential financial services to our clients, including bookkeeping, tax preparation, financial reporting, and auditing. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Recordkeeping: Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for clients, including general ledger entries, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Tax Preparation: Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for clients, ensuring they comply with applicable accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS).
- Audit Support: Participate in audits for clients, providing necessary documentation and analysis, and assisting senior staff with audit procedures.
- Client Communication: Regularly communicate with clients to address questions, concerns, and provide financial advice or recommendations.
- Compliance: Stay updated on relevant accounting and tax laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure client compliance with legal requirements.
- Accounting Analysis: Perform financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for clients to assist with decision-making.
- Accounts Management: Process payroll, handle business reconciliations, and prepare and file various tax forms (e.g., sales tax, payroll taxes).
- Software Utilization: Utilize accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Xero, or other ERP systems) to manage financial records and generate reports.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or pursuing certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting firm or similar environment.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar). Excellent organizational and time management skills.
