Major Recruitment are currently looking for a General Operative to join our busy production and manufacturing team.
The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of general production, assembly and furnace work, supporting the team to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Carrying out general production and manufacturing duties.
Assembly work using hand and power tools.
Operating and working around furnaces.
Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings.
Measuring and checking components to ensure they meet required specifications.
Following production instructions and working to set procedures.
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
Carrying out manual handling and heavy lifting of materials, typically 10-30kg.
Working as part of a team to meet production targets and deadlines.
Requirements
Previous experience in a production, manufacturing or engineering environment is desirable.
Experience using hand and power tools.
Ability to read and understand detailed technical/engineering drawings.
Previous furnace or foundry experience would be an advantage.
Good attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
Ability to work safely and follow instructions.
Physically capable of regular manual handling and lifting of 10-30kg.
Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team.

- Monday-Thursday: 6:00am-2:00pm Friday: 6:00am-11:00am Week 2
Monday-Thursday: 2:00pm-10:00pm Friday: 11:00am-4:00pm This is a rotating two-week shift pattern.
