Major Recruitment are looking for a Yard Operative to join our client's busy site based in Huddersfield. This is a temporary to permanent position, offering long-term progression and development for the right candidate.
Key Details:
- Location: Huddersfield
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 5:00pm
- Every second Saturday: Paid at x1.5 overtime rate
Role Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading timber and associated materials safely and efficiently.
- Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck to move and stack materials.
- Driving between the yard and warehouse (across public roads) to transport stock.
- Keeping the yard and warehouse areas clean, safe, and well organised.
- Supporting with stock control, order preparation, and general yard duties.
- Interacting with customers on site, providing assistance, and delivering excellent service when required.
Candidate Requirements:
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence - essential.
- Full UK Driving Licence - essential.
- Previous experience in a yard, timber, or trade environment is preferred.
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and physically capable of manual handling.
Additional Information:
After successfully completing a 12-week temporary period, the successful candidate will be taken on permanently and provided with additional Combi and Side Loader training to support career development.
