Major Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Site Fitter / Welder / Mechanical Engineer for our prestigious client based in Batley, West Yorkshire. Due to continued growth, our client is looking to strengthen their engineering team with the addition of a skilled and motivated individual to support ongoing site installations, repairs, refurbishments, and maintenance projects across various recycling facilities along the M62 corridor.

This is a hands-on role involving site-based welding, fabrication, and mechanical engineering work, primarily focused on machinery and industrial equipment used within recycling centres.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out MIG welding and fabrication work on-site
  • Install, repair, and refurbish industrial machinery and components
  • Repair and patch pipework where required
  • Fabricate chutes and structural components
  • Complete hard-faced welding work on rotating equipment
  • Assist with the construction and installation of barriers
  • Travel to various customer sites across the M62 corridor using company vehicles
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health & safety procedures
  • Work collaboratively as part of the engineering and site installation team
Requirements:
  • Previous experience within a similar Site Fitter, Welder, or Mechanical Engineering role
  • Strong MIG welding and fabrication skills
  • Mechanical engineering qualifications are essential
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong awareness and commitment to health & safety standards
  • Full clean UK driving licence essential
  • Candidates must be over 25 years old due to company vehicle insurance requirements
Working Hours:

Monday to Friday. Start time approximately 7:00am. Finish times may vary depending on site location and workload. Some additional site work and overtime may be required.
