About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior CNC Miller to join a busy machining team. This is a senior hands-on position, ideal for someone who enjoys programming and running machines while also supporting other team members with technical guidance. This is not a heavy management role. The successful candidate will remain primarily hands-on, spending most of their time programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines. Alongside this, they will help support less experienced machinists, troubleshoot machining issues and assist with shift coordination. The role would suit an experienced CNC Miller who can lead by example, support production and help maintain quality and efficiency across the shift.

Role Breakdown

  • 60–70% programming, setting and running CNC machines.
  • 20–30% providing technical guidance and support to team members.
  • 10–20% helping coordinate shift activity.

No heavy HR responsibilities or constant reporting are required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Programme, set and operate CNC milling machines.
  • Produce precision machined components to specification.
  • Work from engineering drawings and technical instructions.
  • Edit programmes and make machine adjustments where needed.
  • Support other machinists with technical queries.
  • Troubleshoot tooling, machining and production issues.
  • Assist with shift workflow and job coordination.
  • Maintain quality standards across machining operations.
