As part of our commitment to excellence, we are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter with a strong background in hydraulics to join our team in Rugby. Role Summary The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical fitting, assembly, installation, and testing of hydraulic systems and other mechanical components on our range of new and refurbished vacuum tankers. The role requires a hands-on approach, precision, and a high regard for quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities * Carry out the mechanical fitting, installation, and assembly of components on vacuum tankers, in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications. * Install, test, and maintain hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, and pipework. * Perform fault-finding, diagnostics, and repairs on new and existing equipment, addressing mechanical and hydraulic issues. * Read and interpret detailed engineering and hydraulic schematic drawings. * Utilise a range of hand and power tools safely and effectively for fabrication and assembly tasks. * Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with company quality standards and specifications. * Collaborate with the wider manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure a smooth and efficient production process. * Adhere to all workshop safety standards and maintain a clean, tidy, and organised work area. * Assist with stock management and parts kitting as required. Required Skills and Experience * Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, ideally within a manufacturing environment. * In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with hydraulic systems is essential. * Ability to read, understand, and accurately interpret engineering and hydraulic schematic drawings. * Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills. * High level of attention to detail and precision. * Excellent communication and teamwork skills. * A 'can-do' attitude and the ability to work independently when required. Desirable Qualifications * NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant mechanical engineering discipline. * Experience in the vehicle or tanker manufacturing industry
