We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Manager to take responsibility for the effective maintenance of equipment, buildings and grounds, ensuring operational requirements are met while maintaining high engineering standards and full compliance with statutory regulations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineering professional who can combine hands-on technical knowledge with effective leadership, planning and budget management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all preventative and planned maintenance activities across equipment, buildings and grounds.
- Ensure maintenance activities meet operational requirements, engineering standards and statutory regulations.
- Delegate and coordinate work effectively across the engineering team.
- Monitor maintenance schedules and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
- Manage maintenance budgets and maintain effective cost control.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency and preventative maintenance strategies.
- Provide technical support and guidance to engineers and other departments where required.
- Ensure appropriate records, documentation and maintenance procedures are maintained.
- Support compliance with relevant health, safety, environmental and engineering legislation.
- Work closely with operational teams to minimise downtime and maintain continuity of production/services.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have
- HNC or Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
- Proven experience within a maintenance management or engineering management environment.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, mechanical systems and civil construction.
- Experience managing and delegating work to engineers or technical teams.
- Experience of preventative and planned maintenance programmes.
- Strong understanding of engineering standards and statutory compliance.
- Experience of budget management and cost control.
- Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
- A proactive approach to problem solving, continuous improvement and equipment reliability.
