Major Players is working with a leading global media agency to appoint a Category Lead on one of the world's most iconic FMCG accounts. This is a senior, high-visibility role within the Zone Europe team. You will be the most senior media expert on the account, responsible for shaping category-level media strategy across a significant portfolio of FMCG brands and markets — confectionery, food and beyond.

The right person brings solutions before they are asked. They communicate with authority and clarity, build trust with senior clients quickly, and are energised by the complexity and scale of a truly global FMCG business.

What you'll be doing

  • Own the senior client relationship, acting as the strategic media lead for Zone Europe across a major FMCG portfolio
  • Shape category-level media strategy across brands, markets and portfolios — including digital, search and retail media
  • Drive above-market strategic communication principles and provide guidance for local market adaptation
  • Lead quarterly business reviews and senior leadership sessions, presenting strategic performance and forward planning at category level
  • Maintain regular connection with cluster teams and key markets to ensure strategic alignment and in-market consistency
  • Leverage the agency's tools, platforms and AI capabilities to deliver proactive, innovative recommendations to the client
  • Manage and develop a team of three specialists

What we're looking for

  • Proven media expertise — you are credible, commercially sharp and confident in senior client settings
  • Strong FMCG experience is essential — CPG, food or confectionery background is highly desirable
  • Digitally-led, with a solid grasp of full-funnel media investment
  • A proactive, solutions-first mindset — you bring thinking to the table, not just updates
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills — clear, direct and compelling
  • Resilient under pressure — this is a high-volume, fast-paced, high-expectation environment
  • International or multi-market media experience is a strong advantage
  • Based in London (candidates based in France or Poland may also be considered)
