A fast-growing, profitable consumer brand group is looking for a Packaging & Product Artworker to join their Brand & Creative team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a chance to own the technical artwork and production capability behind a rapidly expanding own-brand product range, working closely with the Lead Physical Product Designer.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare print-ready artwork files from approved designs across packaging formats including boxes, sleeves, wraps, labels, tubes, tins and tissue.
- Extend established design systems to create new SKU variants and size derivatives, adapting existing designs to new formats without requiring designer input on each version.
- Help codify design guidelines for product subcategories so variant creation is consistent, documented and repeatable.
- Manage artwork to supplier specifications: bleeds, colour profiles (CMYK/Pantone), dielines and technical tolerances.
- Liaise directly with print suppliers on technical queries, amends and physical proof sign-off.
- Maintain and organise the own-brand artwork library, including version control, file naming and asset management.
Skills & Experience
- Strong designer who is equally comfortable artworking, not a purely executional artworker; you'll be trusted with creative input alongside solid technical output, not just told what to do.
- Deep, hands-on print production expertise: CMYK and Pantone colour management, dielines, bleed, trap and ink coverage.
- Strong systems thinking: confident working within an existing design system and extending it, knowing when a variant can be run independently versus when it needs designer input.
- Obsessively accurate, the kind of person who catches an unlabelled spot colour or a font that hasn't been outlined.
- Proven ability to manage a high volume of live files across multiple projects at pace.
- Comfortable collaborating closely with designers, flagging creative or technical concerns early.
- Actively uses AI-assisted tools and automated workflows for template generation, asset management or variant creation.
- Figma essential; broader Adobe Suite experience welcomed.
Personal Attributes
- Brings creative judgement to the table rather than working in pure execution mode.
- Precise, organised and proactive under a high volume of live files.
- Collaborative, not siloed, happy working alongside designers rather than in isolation.
- Curious about smarter, AI-assisted ways of working.
- Comfortable owning judgement calls on when to run independently vs escalate.
Details and Salary
- 6-month fixed-term contract, 4 days/week.
- £40,000 FTE, pro-rated to approx. £32,000 for 4 days/week.
PLEASE READ: To apply, please attach your PORTFOLIO with packaging or print production artwork clearly visible (dielines, colour separations, or SKU variant systems). Alternatively, if you upload your CV, you must include a link to your portfolio on your CV. Applications without portfolios will not be considered.
