Major Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for a Machine Operator to join our prestigious manufacturing client based in Failsworth. The role would suit candidates with previous production or machine operating experience in any of the following:

  • Plastics Manufacturing
  • Extrusion
  • Masterbatch
  • Chemical
  • Food Manufacturing
  • Injection Moulding

Previous plastic manufacturing experience is highly desirable although not essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To be responsible for the manufacture of all masterbatch to a good consistent quality in line with laboratory specification.
  • To be responsible for the manufacture of all masterbatch at the required hourly output rates.
  • To ensure that optimum process conditions are repeated at all times and to ensure that the quality of production does not deviate from the required laboratory specifications.
  • To ensure that the correct raw materials are used in accordance with the laboratory formulations.
  • To be responsible for the correct settings of all feeding equipment and to ensure all feeding equipment is in calibration.
  • To be responsible for carrying out minor maintenance repair work, e.g. changing dies, dressing pelletiser blades, extruder pusher repairs and any other maintenance work considered necessary by the Production Manager.
  • To be responsible for maintaining a clean and tidy workplace, at all times.
  • To support the implementation of continuous improvement programs.
  • To engage in suggestions for improving the efficiency of the PMU.
  • To carry out the Bagging operation role as required.

Salary: £34,956.46 per annum

Working hours: 3 shift rotation Monday to Friday 6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm, 10pm – 6am. Please only apply for the role if you can work all 3 shifts.
