Major Recruitment are hiring an experienced QA Technician to join our clients ever growing Quality team in Lichfield. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused individual with manufacturing or engineering experience to join a well-established and expanding business.
We are looking for candidates with previous experience who are confident carrying out inspections, interpreting engineering drawings and supporting continuous improvement.
The Role
- Conducting first-off, in-process and final inspections
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
- Carrying out dimensional inspections using verniers, micrometres, height gauges and inspection equipment
- Completing inspection reports and quality documentation accurately
- Supporting investigations into non-conformances and corrective actions
- Assisting with root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities
- Supporting internal audits and process checks
- Working closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues
- Supporting the maintenance of ISO quality standards and systems
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Previous experience within a QA Technician, Quality Technician or Quality Inspector position
- Manufacturing or engineering background
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience using measuring and inspection equipment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Desirable
- Experience within fabrication, welding, machining or precision engineering
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems
- Internal auditing experience
- Understanding of root cause analysis and continuous improvement methods
- CMM experience
