Major recruitment are currently recruiting for a Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Carrington (M31). This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a well-known company within the logistics and transportation industry. Daily duties will consist of but are not limited to:
- Operating and driving Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations
- Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensuring timely, safe and professional deliveries to customer sites
- Knowledge of driving/working hours
- Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
- Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
- Keeping the truck and equipment clean and tidy
Essential Skills
- Must have minimum 12 months experience in HGV driving
- Understanding of being able to use ratchets/straps to cover cardboard bales & removing from paper reels
- No more than 6 penalty points and no major endorsement codes
- Must be able to speak and read a certain level of English
- Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
- Effective communication skills
- Flexibility and availability to work overtime as and when required
- Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
Desirable Experience
- Experience driving any commercial vehicles would be beneficial
